You can run work4all on your own servers (on-premise) or in the work4all Cloud. Using work4all in our cloud offers the major advantage of not having to worry about anything. Hosting work4all on-premise requires a certain technical infrastructure (servers, Microsoft SQL Server database). This includes managing backups of work4all data, setting up a high-performance server environment with strong data security, and more – all topics that many companies prefer not to deal with.

work4all Cloud - What is that?

Let's make it short: All you need is a work4all account and you can get started right away. You can access work4all from anywhere. Your data is stored securely in a German data center.

Even if you are already a work4all customer, you can easily move to the cloud.

work4all GmbH takes care of your backups. Copies of your data are backed up every day and are also stored in another data center in Germany. You don't have to worry about anything.

The most important questions about the Cloud

How often is my database backed up?

A daily backup is created. This backup is kept for 14 days. On the 15th day, the backup from the first day is overwritten.

How often is my network drive backed up?

A backup is created (factory) daily, which saves all files that have been changed or added compared to the previous day (incremental data backup). These incremental data backups are kept for one year, after which “1 year + 1 day” overwrites the first day, etc. In addition, an overall backup is stored monthly. The total monthly backups are kept for 2 months. In month 3, the backup of the 1st month is overwritten.

Where is the work4all cloud data and how secure is it?

The servers that operate the work4all cloud are located in Germany (Nuremberg and Leipzig) and are operated there by a partner company. The data from the database backups carried out is stored on AWS in S3 storage in Frankfurt. The data is stored in an encrypted container.

How is access to the cloud secured?

Data transfers to work4all.cloud are generally encrypted (SSL via HTTPS). Your data is accessed using a certificate file.

What does the file drive look like in my Windows environment?

You have a conventional network drive that is integrated into your Explorer.

Can I also use the file drive for files outside work4all?

No, the drive is only intended for use with work4all.

Is my Internet speed sufficient?

Before you start in the cloud, you can test in the live cloud environment under real conditions how fast work4all is with your Internet access.

Can I continue to use the work4all connection to my telephone system?

Yes, you have no restrictions here.

What service hours does work4all GmbH offer?

The service hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

What are the prices for work4all.cloud or server hosting?

work4all.cloud has a monthly or annual rent. For prices, please see the current price list.

Do I need a Microsoft SQL server license for work4all.cloud?

No, the Microsoft SQL server licenses are already included in the monthly license fee.

Can I use work4all.cloud with an existing work4all installation?

Yes, we can “move” your database to work4all.cloud. Please feel free to contact us at info@work4all.de.

Can I access my database to write my own queries?

You cannot access the Microsoft SQL server directly, only via the API. However, you can create your own queries in work4all via the Excel connector.
